Education
is a long-term endeavor aimed at improving one's temperament and
virtue, enhancing living quality, as well as cultivating talents and
skills. Since I dedicated myself to education in 1970, I have stuck
to this belief. Hence, I have constantly availed myself of every
chance to educate my students so that they may exercise their
faculties to the full and realize the truth, "Everything is good for
something." Furthermore, they will be rendered confident,
optimistic, enterprising, undaunted, and capable of
self-fulfillment.
I am deeply convinced that the success of education depends on
genuine and persistent efforts. "Without taking short steps, one
could never travel far and wide. Likewise, without receiving small
brooks, a river would not come into being," said Master Xun Zi in
one of his chapters entitled "The Necessity of Learning." The above
principle is the very spirit every educator should adhere to. As
long as something trivial is beneficial to students, I will exert
all my powers to carry it out. As the proverb goes, many a pickle
makes a mickle; similarly, negligible as a single attempt may seem,
a large number will make significant differences when put together.
Always reminding myself to be pragmatic, conscientious and superior,
I take delight in work and take pride in service. "Actions speak
louder than words" has been my motto. With perseverance, love,
patience and confidence, I have constantly overcome all difficulties
to realize my ideals of a school characterized by truth, goodness
and beauty.
